the Devil's Workshop Sound Studio - Andy Lageson
As most engineers start out in the biz, Andy did the same. In high school he got a hold of a Yamaha MTX-400 4 track cassette recorder and started rocking demos for local bands in the area. After high school, Andy went on to the music industry program at Moorhead State. After a year of undesirable conditions in the Fargo Area, he moved back to Minneapolis where he found himself at Hennepin Tech in the audio recording program (a gem of a program – highly under rated). Before completion of school, Andy opened a studio in South Minneapolis called Leviathan Audio with Jim Morgan and Justin Carlson working on local projects, recording, mixing, mastering, audio design for films, and live sound.
After 3 years at that location Andy moved on to working by himself in his home in NE Minneapolis continuing the name Leviathan Audio and starting a label in that time as well. Then in 2006 He found a home for himself at the famous Devil’s Workshop Recording Studio now partnering with Chad Weis.
Andy has been recording local, regional and some national acts professionally since 2001.
Andy has also been a drummer in numerous bands since the mid 90’s and is currently in The Nina, The Pinta.
If you ever see Andy at the bar feel free to rock a PBR with him and talk about the good ole days.
